The Dinas Powys 2009 Music Festival kicks off on 20th June with a 'Fab Four Night' capturing all the memories of the sixties and seventies with music by the Beatles to sing along to.
The Festival was established in 2000 in order to allow more people to hear professional musicians in their community and has been growing in popularity every year.
This year’s programme contains something for all tastes and ages. Following the Beatalls 'strutting their stuff', to open the festival come the 'Three Other Tenors' from the Welsh National Opera, the renowned Neath Male Voice Choir, and the Parc & Dare Band. The full youth day makes a return with guitar workshop from Timothy Tate and performances by talented youth bands from the area covering a mixture of jazz, blues and easy listening from music across the decades by local bands, 'Racing Jack' and featuring 'Groove Joint Movement' - ideal for families.
And an exciting new addition to this year’s programme is the Beatles night on the first Saturday.
Also included are the Sunday lunchtime jazz gig with Phil Dando and his quartet; Bethesda Community Choir with excerpts from 'Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat', and children will stage a special concert for senior citizens.

Wedi i'r Beatalls 'strytio eu stwff' i agor yr wyl, daw y '3 Tri Tenor Arall' o' r Cwmni Opera Cenedlaethol, Cor Meibion enwog Castell Nedd a'u hunawdydd Ros Evans, ac un o fandiau pres mawr y byd - y Parc and Dare. Mae'r diwrnod i'r ifanc yn dychwelyd yn ei gyfanrwydd hefo gweithdy gitar gan Timothy Tate, a noson o jazz, blues a cherddoriaeth hamdden gan y bandiau lleol Racing Jack a Groove Joint Movement - noson delfrydol i deuluoedd.
