The Dinas Powys 2008 Music Festival kicks off on 21 June with the superb Pendyrus Male Voice Choir, described as "the best sound I have heard by a Welsh male choir for many years".

The Festival was established in 2000 in order to allow more people to hear professional musicians in their community and has been growing in popularity every year.

This year’s programme contains something for all tastes and ages, as well as the award winning Pendyrus male voice choir, the Cory Band officially the best brass band in the UK, and the Chamber Orchestra of Wales’ enchanting Italian night will entertain audiences.

And an exciting new addition to this year’s programme is Abbamagic, one of Britain’s best Abba tribute bands.

Also included are the Sunday lunchtime jazz gig with Phil Dando and his musicians; Bethesda Community Choir with special guest Mal Pope; Cory Band will hold a wind workshop with children from Vale schools; and children from St Andrew’s School, Dinas Powys, will stage a concert for senior citizens.
